Greg Kirsch
This month’s Unsung Hero honoree is Gregory Kirsch.
Greg is originally from the State of Michigan, graduate of Loyola University and IIT Chicago – Kent Law School. He currently serves as Managing Broker with Kirsch Agency where he helps retailers and landlords navigate the complexity of retail leasing in the Chicago area. Greg has been associated with the Tri-Taylor community for over two decades, both as a resident and as a member and President of the Tri-Taylor Community Association.
The vibrancy of the Tri-Taylor community along with the diversity is what attracted Greg, his wife, and dog to move to the area. One of Greg’s earliest memories in the neighborhood was taking his dog to a lot on the corner of Leavitt and Lexington to play ball with the local kids in the community. It was there that Greg realized this community was worth the investment. Over the years, Greg would canvass the community to ensure his neighbors were focused on issues of concern. This ultimately led him to reactivating the Tri-Taylor Community Association almost 10 years ago.
Greg loves to be engaged with his community stakeholders by working alongside likeminded people who want to continue to see Tri-Taylor grow and thrive. Greg has been a vital part of several zoning measures in the area that has preserved affordable housing and promoted long term residency. As a real estate expert, his focus is to encourage development without divesting others in the community. One of his favorite spaces is Muse Coffee Shop on
Western, and it’s not just because of the good coffee or the office space they offer, but the artwork that Muse displays throughout the shop.
In addition to his community, Greg is the managing broker for Kirsch Agency, helping major retail bands find the perfect space to service people and manage the complexity of retail leasing throughout the Chicagoland area. From Culver’s to Coach and The North Face, Greg’s wide range of clients speak to the high level of quality service his agency provides. Greg has been recognized as a Chain Store Age – Retail Power Broker, 2009 Crain’s Chicago Business 40 under 40 recipient, and a finalist for the Chicago Food Depository’s Broker of the Year.
