Ald. Ervin Seeking College Applicants for 10-Week Internship


CHICAGO (May 20, 2011) – Chicago Alderman Jason C. Ervin’s Office is seeking one college student for its 10-week internship program.  The internship provides the student valuable work experience in the public sector and City government operations.  Interns will be assigned duties specific to the aldermanic office including researching and analyzing proposed City ordinances, attend community events and meetings, etc.


Student must be in good academic standing and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university offering an associate, Baccalaureate or graduate degree program.  Also, must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale.


Student must be able to provide current transcript, resume and current letter of enrollment verification from the school’s registrar or dean.  Interns must live within the City of Chicago limits during their work assignment. Proof of residency will be required at the time of employment. The internship program will run from June 15th to August 24th.

The internship will pay $8.25 to 9.50 per hour, rate of pay based on grade level completed.
