Westside Health Authority has a very limited number of jobs for youth in the Austin and Garfield areas of Chicago.

Austin: The Illinois Youth Recreation Corps is an opportunity for 16-19 year-olds to earn $8.50/hour with not-for-profit entities and units of local government through the end of August.

Available jobs will provide recreational opportunities in areas including (but not limited to) physical activity, arts, and learning. To apply for one of these jobs, please to complete the attached SYEP application by Friday, July 8th. Youth can also come to our office (5437 W. Division St) between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm. The receptionist can give/collect the application. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Jonathan Currie at 773-378-5034 or jcurrie@healthauthority.org. This is a very fast turnaround and we are trying to have youth working by next Monday.

Garfield Park: WHA has been selected to provide summer youth employment services for residents of Garfield Park under the One Summer Chicago program. This pilot program in the Chicago neighborhoods of Garfield Park, Englewood, Woodlawn, and Little Village is a collaborative effort between the City, County, civic and business communities to provide summer programming for youths. Applications should be submitted by Monday, July 11th.
