The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services and the Chicago
Housing Authority have partnered to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to expand programming for CHA youth. We invite organizations to submit proposals to provide CHA youth ages 6-18 with programs in one or more of these three categories:
RFP respondents may propose support for an existing program or funding for a new program model. Proposals may request grant funding for all-year, school-year and summer-only programming. Grant awards are expected to range from $20,000 -$75,000 per program. Funded programs will serve youth who have a CHA client identification number and who are listed on their family’s lease. This includes families living in traditional developments, mixed income developments and those families who possess Housing Choice Vouchers (formerly known as Section 8). This is a competitive process open to all non-profit entities: faith-based, private and public. Detailed descriptions and further information about the program are in the RFP and related materials posted on the DFSS website below. Interested organizations are asked to download the complete RFP which includes instructions and a program description and a link to the application, at the DFSS website: http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/fss.html Questions and comments related to the CHA youth program RFP can be submitted via e-mail to Monica Dunleavy-Gerster:Monica.dunleavygerster@cityofchicago.org. people to explore their talents and continue learning outside of the classroom. |
